Laura is a digital communications specialist who blends nature, travel, and small business content with progressive technologies. Laura helps clients modernize their message on multiple digital platforms by crafting, transforming, and/or repurposing existing content to reach today’s busy, distracted audience of nature and travel lovers.
My Digital Nature provides a variety of services including freelance writing, content strategy & development, web/mobile media consulting/project management, social media coaching, and online marketing.
Laura is deeply passionate about nature travel and works to link birders/nature travelers to great destinations in several ways. She is well-known among bird watchers as an independent travel blogger (see Nature Travel Network), she’s worked for a nationally syndicated birding travel TV show, Birding Adventures TV, and she advises clients on how to market their birding destinations to travelers.
Laura is the past-president of Rochester Birding Association (2015) and was a co-founder of Ohio Ornithological Society (2004) and the Community Science Institute (2000). In past lives, she’s served as project leader of Project Feederwatch at Cornell Lab of Ornithology, web editor for Bird Watcher’s Digest magazine, grant writer for a land conservancy, membership director for a national park friends group, and coordinator of Florida Lakewatch citizen science project.
